‘Goblin sette note in rosso’ at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts!

I am proud to announce that ‘Goblin sette note in rosso’ was acquired in the permanent collection of the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, one of the largest in the world dedicated to that field. I was happily surprised when I learned that my book has been purchased from this prestigious Public Library and made available for consultation (Call #:JMG 11-191!) in the Music Division. I am truly honored. New York fans have the possibility to watch (and read in italian) the book! Next time I’ll be in New York I will certainly make a jump at the Lincoln Center Plaza, third floor ...

GOBLIN MEGACOMPILATION on ‘VERSO LA STRATOSFERA’

On "Verso la stratosfera" a great blog dedicated to the Italian progressive bands, can be downloaded the 30th volume in the series 'Rare 45rpm from Italian progressive rock', entirely dedicated to Goblin and Claudio Simonetti. This is a quintuple compilation with three 'CDs' for Goblin that bring together live performances, singles, collaborations, and two 'CDs' for Simonetti, with an eye even for his productions in the 'disco field', often neglected. The anthology collects only material found on YouTube with a selection in chronological order that reconcile rarities and musical value. Since the primal source is YouTube, the sound quality is variable. A monumental sampler designed for those who want to deepen the 'Goblin world' but that will delight even the most experienced fans.
Here's the link:

I remind you that on "Verso la stratosfera" were posted unavailable and historically extremely important concerts from Italian progressive rock artists (Battiato, Le Orme, Banco, Latte e Miele, just to mention the last) and I hope that many other will follow in the near future. Recordings from the '70s, until now impossible to find elsewhere, provided by collectors in order to spread and preserve the musical culture of that magical and unforgettable era of the Italian rock.

(New) Goblin (Rebirth) live albums.

New Goblin announced for February the release of the album "Live in Roma" with the recording of the concert that they held on February 18th, 2011 at  the Alpheus rock club. Contrary to what was stated earlier, the album will not include a DVD with the same performance filmed by director Luigi Pastore, maybe this DVD might 'arise' in the future, as a bonus for of some other product. The track list of 'Live in Roma' is: Magic thriller; Mad puppet, Dr. Frankenstein, Roller, E suono rock, Aquaman, Nonhosonno - Death farm, Goblin, L’alba dei morti viventi - Zombi, Suspiria, Tenebre, Phenomena, School at night – Profondo rosso, Zaratozom.
However there are no news about the release of the album with new studio material, initially scheduled for October 2011.

Even Goblin Rebirth are about to release their live album, recorded at the Crossroads club on April 22, 2011. Fabio Pignatelli asked to an old friend (well known to any true Goblin fan) to create a new logo with a different lettering. I saw the first sketches and I think that the basic idea is good. I appreciate very much that Pignatelli has opted for a talented artist and not for computer and Photoshop whose deleterious results are visible on many covers. I sincerely hope that this excellent artist will draft even the album cover.
I don’t want to spoil the surprise to the fans so I will simply say that the look of the evil new-born goblin is totally different and he does not play a violin anymore but a much more ‘suspiria linked ' musical instrument. For the lettering they’re thinking for a modern style but with some Roger Dean's reminiscences. Some passions, you know, never fade ...

In the meantime appeared on the Japanese market a variety of bootleg CDs with all the concerts played by the bands at the ‘Italian Progressive Rock Festival’ held in Kawasaki. With regard to New Goblin (however indicated simply as Goblin), "Wildlife Records" has published 'Inferno', a double CD with the November 4th 2011 concert, 'Volcano', a double CD with the November 5th show as headliners and a quadruple CD called 'Inferno / Volcano' which contains the two shows. "Wildlife Records" published four boxed sets, each one devoted to a day of the Festival, with all the concerts. The sets dedicated to the 4th and 5th November are respectively quadruple and quintuple. Of course are even available CDs with PFM, Osanna, Arti / Mestieri, Il Balletto di Bronzo and The Trip  shows.
Another (illegal, we’re talking about bootlegs) label, called SNE, has released several CDs with the shows of 'Italian Progressive Rock Festival': the one dedicated to New Goblin it’s a triple set named 'Suspiria to behind the core'.
Here are all the covers.
